Carpinteria Knights at Break Time Tainted Nuns

CARPINTERIA KNIGHTS WINS 10 - 5

Ernie Rivas and Don Risdon combined for six game wins to help Carp double up on Break Time. The Knights took 4 of 5 in the opening frame of their match against the Tainted Nuns and never looked back. With the win, The Knights (11-5) move ahead of the Nuggets and into 5th place. 10th place Tainted Nuns were led by two-game winners Dana Ochoa and Jon Hernandez.

Creekside Snakes at Carp & Linden Pub 2

CARP & LINDEN PUB 2 WINS 11 - 4

The good news for the Snakes was that they won the majority of the games played. The bad news was that only two Snakes showed up. 9th place Carp & Linden Pub 2 (7-9) took full advantage of the forfeit rule, rolling in three break-and-runs, while winning the forfeited match 11-4. Captain Eric Romero had two runs and Chris Atkins had the other. Romero's 50 points moved him back into a tie for the 'A' Division lead with Slow Start's Damian Rebman. Nic Lopez and Tracy Baker had two wins each for the 13th place Snakes (0-16).

Don Q's 1 at Uptown Lounge Otters

DON Q'S 1 WINS 12 - 3

4th place Don Q's 1 (12-4) finished strong against the Otters, winning the last nine games en route to a 12-3 victory. Brian Shillington, Ed Drayton, and Jim Holloway had three wins each for Don Q's. Daniel Drnavich, Laura Craig, and Salvador Ibarra had one win each for the 11th place Otters (2-14).

Don Q's Badgers at Sportsman Nuggets

DON Q'S BADGERS WINS 10 - 5

The 3rd place Don Q's Badgers (13-3) made it four wins in a row with their 10-5 victory at Sportsman. Jeremy Warner opened the match with a table run against Sportsman's Derrick Craig. The Badgers went on to take the next three games and 6 of the first 7, capped off by Sean O'Brien's break-and-run. The Nuggets got two wins each from Andy Reagan and Anthony Saenz but it wasn't enough. O'Brien was joined in the three-win circle by teammate Bill Fedderson. Sean's 40 points moved him up two spots and into a 7th place tie with Jeremy. The loss by the Nuggets (11-5) ends their five-match win streak and drops them to 6th place behind the Knights.

Monty's 2 at Moose Lodge 1

MOOSE LODGE 1 WINS 14 - 1

The Moose broke loose and rumbled to their biggest winning margin of the season as they crushed visiting Monty's 2 by a 14-1 score. Tanya Topinko led all Moose with three wins and a table run. Tanya's first career 35+ point match moved her into the top-20 in 'A' Division. Teammates Ismael Reyes, Mario Reyes, and Peter Garcia also had three-win nights. The 14 game wins enables Moose Lodge 1 (7-9) to climb into a 7th place tie with Uptown Lounge 1. RM Sub had the lone game win for 12th place Monty's 2 (2-14).

Uptown Lounge 1 at Don Q's Dragons

DON Q'S DRAGONS WINS 12 - 3

The 1st place Don Q's Dragons (14-2) took out their frustrations from last week's loss on visiting Uptown Lounge in a 12-3 massacre. After Uptown's Patrick McNulty opened the match with the first of his two game wins, the Dragons won the next six games and cruised from there. Don Q's Mike Rys led all scorers with three wins and a table run. Teammates Robert Rosa and Brent Boone both had 30 points; Rosa got three wins while Boone lost a game but also had a break 'n run. 7th place Uptown Lounge 1 falls to 7-9.

Break Time Nuts 'n Honey at Mel's Lounge 1

MEL'S LOUNGE 1 WINS 8 - 7

It was deja vu all over again in the Mel's Lounge 8-7 win against 13th place Nuts & Honey (2-14). Just like their week 3 matchup, Break Time poured it on in the second frame and were the first team to reach the hill. And just like their week 3 match, Alex Moray won all three games and led 8th place Mel's Lounge (6-10) to a final charge that gave them a thrilling 8-7 come-from-behind victory. The only difference in the two matches was that Kai Duex won the hill-hill game this go-round. Eric Cox, Chris Winters, and Josh Mullen had two wins each for Break Time.

Break Time TBD at Don Q's 2

DON Q'S 2 WINS 8 - 7

Break Time TBD fell one game short of a miraculous comeback, losing 8-7 to 11th place Don Q's 2 (4-12). Led by three-game winner Blake Schaff, Don Q's took 7 of the first 10 games. TBD's Brandon Luehrs started the final-frame charge for TBD with his win against Don Q's captain Keith Baugher. Two-game winners Steve Myers, Dean Robb, and Derek Ng followed with wins to force a hill-hill game. Schaff beat TBD captain Evan Henderson in the final game to give Don Q's the victory. With the loss, Break Time TBD (5-11) fell to 10th place.

Cliff Room 1 at Monty's Misfits

MONTY'S MISFITS WINS 8 - 7

John Bushnell and Mark Campos combined for six game wins and powered the host Misfits to an 8-7 victory against 3rd place Cliff Room (12-4). When Devin Beach scored the first of his three game wins, Cliff Room held a 3-1 lead. Monty's took the next three games to take a 4-3 lead, then the two teams went back and forth until the score was tied 7-7. Campos beat Tyler Rosenow in the final game to give 5th place Monty's (11-5) the win. The loss snapped a four-match win streak for Cliff Room.

Don Q's Sharks at Break Time Warriors

BREAK TIME WARRIORS WINS 9 - 6

Brendan Mackey had three wins, George Guerrero had a match-clinching table run, and the 1st place Warriors (15-1) were able to avoid getting bit by the Sharks. Don Q's took an early 3-1 lead thanks in part to a table run by captain Matt Carr. Break Time quickly took control of the match by winning 6 of the next 7 games. Carr and Terry Howell kept the Sharks alive by winning games 12 and 13, but Guerrero table ran Cyril Muckenhirn in game 14 to give Break Time the victory. This was the seventh consecutive win for the Warriors. The loss drops the 7th place Don Q's Sharks (9-7) behind 6th place Sportsman 1. Carr and Debbie Beach had two wins each to lead the Sharks.

Mel's Cartel at Creekside Frogs

CREEKSIDE FROGS WINS 10 - 5

Albert Covarrubias had three wins and a break-and-run to lead the Creekside Frogs (5-11) to a 10-5 victory against 12th place Mel's Cartel (3-13). Albert's run came in the opening game, and the Frogs never trailed from that point on. Two-game winners Casey Black and Cevin Doppman helped the Cartel stay in the match well into the beer frame, but the Frogs were too much in the end. With the win, the Frogs were able to move up to 9th place.

Sportsman 1 at Moose Lodge 2

SPORTSMAN 1 WINS 9 - 6

For the second time this season, Sportsman 1 upset 2nd place Moose Lodge 2 (12-4). Josh Gomes, subbing for Chris Ackler, had three wins to lead Sportsman, and teammate Bob McLean had his first table run of the season. Sportsman had four wins in each of the first two frames and secured the victory early. Two-game winners Alfonso Lazaro and Ismael Huerta helped the Moose take 4 of the last 5 games but it was too little, too late. With the victory, Sportsman 1 (10-6) moves up to 6th place.

Moosekateers at Don Q's Slow Start

DON Q'S SLOW START WINS 11 - 4

Just as they did in their week 3 matchup, the 4th place Moosekateers (11-5) played very well in the first two frames against a powerful Slow Start team but fell apart in the beer frame. Martin Hernandez had a win and a table run and helped the Moosekateers win 4 of the first 9 games, but Slow Start won the remaining six games for an 11-4 victory. Damian Rebman once again led Don Q's with three wins and a table run. Al Vafa had a break 'n run and Steve Moreno had a table run for 2nd place Slow Start (13-3).
